A representative of the ministry also stated that Beijing could introduce its own undisclosed “countermeasures” if the American leader carries out his warning, noting that the country was “unafraid” of a possible trade war.

This past Friday, Donald Trump hit back at the Chinese government’s action to reinforce its policies for overseas sales of critical elements, alleging China of “becoming very hostile” and attempting to hold the international market “captive”.
