Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs the Rapper Awaits Judgment After US Federal Prostitution-Related Conviction
Sean Combs is set to face a federal judge in New York City this Friday for sentencing after being guilty verdict this year on federal counts involving prostitution.
Court Verdict
Subsequent to the two-month court case that wrapped up in this past July, jurors acquitted Combs of the top-level charges of sex trade and racketeering. Jurors, nonetheless, convict him on a pair of offenses of transporting people for prostitution.
Judge Arun Subramanian is now tasked with the responsibility of deciding the punishment. The hearing is scheduled to commence at 10am eastern time.

The accusations against Combs of influencing two former partners into drug-laced sexual encounters featuring hired escorts. If found guilty on the most serious charges would have resulted in a lifetime behind bars.
When he was acquitted of those accusations, he allegedly knelt down to pray. His lawyer remarked that he had “been given his life back”.
Possible Punishment
Yet, the findings of guilt he obtained still each carry a possible of 10 years incarcerated according to the federal Mann Act, which prohibits moving across state borders to enable sex work.
The government characterize the conduct as serious crimes, while the defense team has dismissed the counts as “fallback” allegations that never should have proceeded.
New Information
Reports suggest that he aims to address to the court ahead of the penalty is announced, although not testifying in the trial.
In a request lodged last week, his attorneys asked that he be authorized to be present in “regular clothes” at the proceeding, like he had in the trial when he sported sweaters and collared shirts.
“This court hearing carries great weight for the defendant,” the filing said. “He wishes to face the judge, address Your Honor, and allocate in the most dignified and dignified way possible.”
Suggested Sentences
A wide range of punishments is on the table, as the government and defense have made recommendations guided by federal sentencing rules, though the final decision is up to the presiding judge.
Federal attorneys is urging a minimum of eleven years and three months behind bars – amounting to 135 months – calling Combs “unrepentant” and pointing out threats and aggression that witnesses detailed.
His attorneys are seeking a maximum of 14 months, which considering time served would permit Combs to be released by the close of 2025. They argue that his penalty has already been enough for what they claim was consensual sex with hired performers.
Sentencing officials, meanwhile, calculated that the recommended sentencing range could reach up to seven years and three months.
